Electrical

I make use of my combination of engineering and hands-on experience to create drawings that are designed to be easier to read and implement at the technician level, saving time and reducing errors.

Electrical Drawings

  • Wiring diagrams that depict interfaces needed to supply newly installed equipment with everything available to maximize functionality.

  • Components and wires are laid out in a manner that minimizes the instances of wires jumping from one sheet to another. This gives the technician a clearer picture of the system and makes post-modification continuity checks and troubleshooting easier.

  • Upon request, a stickline/wire cut sheet can be added to the drawing using information you provide. This will make it possible for future technicians to pre-fabricate wiring harnesses if you believe this will be a repeat job.

  • For certified aircraft (not experimental), the drawing contains general notes, project-specific notes, flag (delta) notes and a parts list.

Configuration Sheets

  • Outlines the correct airframe and interface configuration settings for each component in the electrical drawing. This includes settings for newly installed components and new setting for existing components that appear in the drawing.

  • Less obvious settings include a description of the purpose of the setting, giving the technician a better understanding of the system architecture and aiding in troubleshooting.

  • These sheets reduce post-modification setup time and can be a life saver in the event of configuration module failure or accidental software overwrite in the future.

  • These sheets do not include calibration values or settings relating to crew preferences.

Engineering Change Orders (ECO)

  • A low cost alternative to a drawing for situations where a visual depiction is not necessary. Examples include system removals or equipment substitutions.

  • This document contains all of the data required by an FAA FSDO or DER for approval.
